One of the strengths of the footage is the large number of innovative and practical drills that allow the player to develop the necessary skills to be successful in the middle infield or on the corners.

SB-40 "Better Throwing: Skills & Drills That Win Games" (Simpson 56 min)

How many games have you seen lost because of a bad throw, or one that never should have been made? Softball defense is a game of throw and catch, but we must understand just what that means and realize that the throw and catch must be made under game conditions, which are quite different than the structured practice sessions so often seen. Simpson, founder of Higher Ground and the former Head Coach of the British Women's National Team, will lead you step by step to a quality understanding of what is really involved in effective throwing, from basic youth level skills to Olympic level skills. You will see the skills and drills that are necessary for success at every level, from development of the basic overhand throw to the concept of almost never using an overhand throw. You will learn to practice and use throws from odd, yet controlled, body positions and arm angles. You will learn numerous drills that can be used in practice, before the game, and during the game so that throws under game conditions can help your team win more games.
