HIGHER GROUND SOFTBALL, an international leader for instructional services and products, is conducting the 17th Annual Higher Ground Central Florida Winter Clinic on January 12-13, 2008 at the West Orange Girls Club Softball Complex in Ocoee/Orlando, Florida. An internationally recognized staff has been secured and sessions will include advanced and basic topics with lots of terrific information, hands-on activity, and personal assistance from instructors with tremendous experience at all levels of the game. Players will improve their skills and learn to use those skills in game situations where it really counts. YOU will want to be sure to participate in this terrific improvement opportunity conducted by Higher Ground Softball (www.highergroundsoftball.com).

 

The International Softball Federation, International Sports Group, the United States Air Force, and many international federations have used Higher Ground services. Higher Ground has conducted activities in approximately forty states, plus Argentina, Austria, Azores, Canada, China, Cuba, Czech Republic, England, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Panama, Puerto Rico, Scotland, Slovakia, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Zambia. In addition, Sports Illustrated for Women recognized Higher Ground as the top softball camp program in America.

17th Annual Central Florida Higher Ground Winter Clinic - Ocoee, Florida – Jan. 12-13, 2008

FEES: Players: Bronze Level includes clinic attendance; Silver Level includes attendance plus choice of T-Shirt ($12-15 value); Gold Level includes attendance, T-Shirt ($12-15 value), and signed copy of Improved Hitting for Girl’s Softball by Bobby Simpson ($20.00 value). Advance Player Registration is Bronze – $85; Silver – $95; Gold – $105. On-Site is $95/105/115. WOGC members may receive discounted rate. Special Team Rate (must include 10 or more players) is only $75/85/95 and must be part of advance registration. Adults, including coaches: $25.00 observation fee, with each adult receiving Higher Ground T-Shirt, copy of The Best of Getting Better Every Day (choose Vol. 1 or Vol. 2), and on-field access to all player sessions. Private Lessons (HT, P, C, IF, OF, Softball Vision) can be scheduled for $35.00 per half hour. Sessions are limited so contact us to guarantee availability. WHERE: West Orange Girls Club – 881 Ocoee-Apopka Rd, Ocoee, FL 34761. Maps or directions are available on request. Full concessions will be available during the clinic…please support WOGC.

AGES: 10U-18U players. Sessions are designed with age group & skill level restrictions so that beginners, intermediate, and advanced players have appropriate topics and activity. Even the most serious travel team player will be accommodated. Game action is part of the schedule. Coaches and other adults may pay reasonable observation fee and receive instructional materials, T-shirt, and immediate on-field access to instructional areas (see below).

 

STAFF: Bobby Simpson (Georgia) - Founder/President of Higher Ground; International softball clinician, with experience in Austria, Canada, Czech Republic, England, Germany, Greece, Holland, Italy, Scotland, Sweden, and U.S. Virgin Islands; Head Coach of British Women's Fastpitch National Team (2001-2004), Gold Medal winner of 2004 Olympic Test Event; Former assistant coach for Dutch and Greek National Teams; Former pro and college baseball coach. Joe Guthrie (Alabama) – Head Softball Coach at Marion Military Institute (Junior College); former college baseball standout at University of Alabama; former professional scout with Florida Marlins; successful high school coach in Alabama, Florida, and Washington; Iraq war veteran. Mike Pace (Florida) – Former assistant coach at Daytona Beach Community College and Bethune Cookman College; assisted BCC to outstanding season in 2005 and trip to NCAA Division I Super Regionals; outstanding pitching instructor; very popular instructor at many Higher Ground clinics and camps. Tanya Price (Wyoming) – Former member of British National Team that won Gold Medal at 2004 Olympic Test Event in Greece; former World Championship participant with South Africa National Team; founder of Grassroots Softball Program for British Softball Federation. Vicky Rogers (Florida) - Ultra successful high school and travel team coach in Georgia and Florida, with approximately 40 players that played college softball; Guest instructor for British Softball Federation and conducted ISF Olympic Solidarity Clinic in Zambia (Africa). Tina Whitlock (Georgia) – Two-time NCAA Division I All-American and four-time All-Conference at University of South Carolina; Three-year veteran of USA National Team, plus one year of professional softball with Durham Dragons; Former Assistant Coach at University of Tennessee- Chattanooga and Mercer University (GA).
